Sabrina Ullman: Almost done with fog
Dense fog is likely again tonight, but it will be less widespread this time. Areas near Hayward will have the worst of the mist. Overnight lows will be in the low 20s. Spots of freezing fog will be possible between 10 pm and midnight.
A northwest wind will help bring an end to the fog on Tuesday. It will also cause a return of lake-effect snow for the South Shore, with up to an inch of snow possible.
Temperatures will drop during the day on Tuesday. Highs will be in the mid to upper 20s around noon, and temperatures will fall to around 20 degrees in the evening. It will be in the teens by the time we ring in the new year.
New Year’s Day will be breezy with highs in the teens. By the end of the week, we will have afternoon highs in the single digits and overnight lows below zero. Temperatures rebound slightly at the beginning of next week.

Patchy fog between midnight and 2am. Areas of freezing fog between 10pm and midnight. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 22. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
Tuesday
A chance of flurries between 11am and 2pm. Cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 21 by 5pm. Blustery, with a northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
