Black Friday has started with chilly conditions with temperatures in the low teens and subzero wind chills. Afternoon highs will be in the teens to low 20s today. Blustery northwest winds will make it feel colder and create lake-effect snow along the South Shore over the weekend.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the U.P., effective until 6 am Saturday. There is also a Winter Weather Advisory for Bayfield and Iron Counties during this time.

In addition to lake-effect snow near the big lake, there will be accumulations of 1-3 inches downwind of inland lakes in far northern St. Louis County. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until noon today in that area.

Tonight will be breezy with overnight lows in the single digits. Temperatures will stay on the chilly side on Saturday, only reaching the teens. Starting Sunday, we will have a few days with highs in the low 20s.
