Today will have increasing cloud coverage as well as strengthening winds. By the afternoon, the west-southwest wind will be at 15-20 mph. Afternoon highs will be in the 40s to low 50s.
There is a chance of rain towards the international border this afternoon. Most of this round of precipitation will stay north of the Iron Range tonight. Rain will become snow early Saturday.
As wind changes direction and becomes northwesterly Saturday, we will see some lake effect snow on the South Shore. Areas near Ironwood can expect 1-3 inches of snow between 1 am Saturday and 7 am Monday, while the rest of the Northland gets an inch or less.
