February 16: Cold, dry air returns

Today will be partly sunny with afternoon highs in the single digits.

Today will be partly sunny with afternoon highs in the single digits. With a gusty northwest wind, wind chill values will be in the negative teens.

Temperatures will continue to drop tonight with overnight lows in the negative teens. Wind chill values will be as low as -40 on Monday morning for areas west of St. Louis County. An Extreme Cold Watch has been issued for Koochiching, Itasca, and Aitkin Counties.

Brutal cold weather will continue for a few days as temperatures struggle to get above zero. We will see temperatures warm to the low 20s by the end of the week, so this cold stretch will be fairly short-lived.
