Sabrina Ullman: Clear skies and chilly temperatures continue

January 5: Clear and cold night

Tonight will have a light north wind and overnight lows ranging from the negative teens to the positive teens.

Clear skies will continue for the next couple of days. Overnight lows will range from -15 degrees in International Falls to 11 degrees in Ironwood. A north wind of 5-10 mph will make temperatures feel around ten degrees colder, but it will not get cold enough tonight for any advisories.

Monday will be sunny with afternoon highs in the single digits near the international border, near 20 degrees in northern Wisconsin, and in the teens in between. Similar conditions are in store for Tuesday, but a northwest wind will bring back the chance of light lake-effect snow on the South Shore.

Temperatures will gradually warm by 5-10 degrees by the end of the week, but it will be another quiet week for the Northland. Flurries are possible in northern Minnesota on Thursday, but minimal accumulation is expected. There is a slight chance of light snow next weekend.
