Tonight will be bitterly cold, and we will see similar conditions for the next few days. Overnight lows will be in the negatives with most of the Northland dropping to the negative teens. A gusty northwest wind will put wind chill values mostly between -25 and -35, but some areas will have wind chills as cold as -45 degrees.

An Extreme Cold Warning has been issued for St. Louis, Carlton, Pine, Koochiching, and Itasca Counties. The rest of the Northland has a Cold Weather Advisory for tonight, except for the U.P. Both the Extreme Cold Warning and the Cold Weather Advisory will be in effect from midnight until 10 am on Monday.

Monday will be mostly sunny and cold with temperatures mostly below zero. Wind chill values for both Monday and Tuesday will be between -30 and -40.

Conditions will improve by the end of the week with afternoon highs in the 20s on Friday and Saturday. Sunday will be quite the temperature swing as temperatures climb to the 30s.
