Sabrina Ullman: Cool weather continues Friday

August 15: Dreary weather across the Northland

It will be a rainy and dreary Thursday in the mid-sixties across the Northland as we end the week with cooler temperatures.

Today was around 10-15 degrees cooler than normal for this time of year, with temperatures feeling more like September. This cooler weather will be temporary as we warm up by the end of the weekend.

Tonight will have overnight lows in the upper 40s to low 50s. A strong northwest wind will continue for the next few days.

Friday will be mostly cloudy with afternoon highs in the 60s. A few spots will only reach the upper 50s, including Ely and Ironwood. Lake-effect rain is possible along the South Shore Friday and Friday night.

We will start to see temperatures closer to normal this weekend with highs in the low 70s Saturday and in the upper 70s Sunday. High pressure entering the region will result in dry weather this weekend and into early next week.
