Sabrina Ullman: Cooler by the new year

Tonight, we will have patchy fog and overnight lows in the 20s. Relatively warm temperatures and a south wind will persist for the next few days.

There will also be patchy fog on Thursday, especially in northern Minnesota. Freezing drizzle is possible in the morning, so sidewalks may get slick. Afternoon highs will be in the mid-30s.

Rain is likely on Friday, lasting into Saturday. We will likely see a rain/snow mix both Friday night and Saturday night. Little or no snow accumulation is expected, and rain accumulation will be up to half an inch.

Temperatures will be in the upper 30s Friday-Sunday. On Monday, we will start to see a gradual cooling trend. We will start 2025 with afternoon highs in the teens to low 20s on Wednesday.

Thursday

A slight chance of drizzle or freezing rain before noon, then a slight chance of drizzle after 5pm. Patchy fog before 2pm, then patchy fog after 4pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 34. South wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday

Rain likely, mainly after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 38. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Saturday

Rain likely before noon, then a chance of rain and snow. Cloudy, with a high near 36. East wind around 5 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Sunday

Partly sunny, with a high near 36. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Monday

Partly sunny, with a high near 32. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
