August 23: Temperatures are heating up

Conditions will get hotter and more humid this weekend.

Showers will exit the region by the afternoon, and then we will have a few days without rain. Afternoon highs today will range from the low 70s in the Arrowhead region and northern Wisconsin to the upper 70s and low 80s west of the Twin Ports.

Skies will clear briefly this evening, but then patchy fog is likely overnight. Lows will be near 60 degrees.

This weekend will be hot and humid. Afternoon highs will be in the 80s throughout the Northland on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Thunderstorms are likely Sunday night.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10am, then a slight chance of showers between 10am and 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Patchy fog after 3am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 60. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Light south wind becoming southeast 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. East wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 82. North wind 5 to 10 mph.
