Sabrina Ullman: Mostly cloudy night ahead

August 11: Patchy fog tonight

With winds becoming calm, patchy fog is likely tonight. Skies clear midday Monday.

There will be light west wind and overnight lows in the 50s tonight. The wind may become calm for long enough for patchy fog to develop. Cloud coverage will vary with areas along the North Shore and west of Grand Rapids having mostly clear skies.

The aforementioned areas with mostly clear skies will likely have a decent view of both the Northern Lights and the Perseids tonight if you get away from the city lights. The best time to view will be between midnight and 6 am. The Perseids peak before dawn on Monday but will continue through September 1.
