Current fire weather risk is very high for most of the Northland due to the warm temperatures, gusty northwest winds, and low relative humidity. It will be less windy Monday, but there will still be near critical fire weather as we await the arrival of much-needed rainfall.

Tonight will be partly cloudy with overnight lows in the 30s. The wind will gradually weaken, with wind speeds dropping down to around 5 mph by tomorrow.

Monday will have passing clouds and afternoon highs mostly in the 60s. A light east-southeast wind will keep temperatures in the 50s by the lake. There is a chance of rain in the afternoon to evening hours for areas stretching from Carlton County to Brainerd.

The track of the low-pressure system heading our way has shifted slightly. There will be a later arrival of rainfall, and the heaviest accumulations will be towards central Minnesota/Wisconsin. Passing showers are likely Monday night into Tuesday, becoming more widespread Tuesday into Wednesday.

We will likely see this system exit Thursday, but there will be another chance of rain Thursday into Friday. With temperatures dropping back down to normal by the end of the week, there is a chance of snow mixing in with the rain. Impactful snow is unlikely as the ground will still be fairly warm.
