Sabrina Ullman: Slick morning commute ahead
Dense fog became widespread this evening, and most of the area currently has a mile or less of visibility. Thick fog will last through the night, so a Dense Fog Advisory has been issued throughout the Northland. The advisory is set to last until noon on Monday, but we will likely see patchy fog linger through Monday in some areas.
Temperatures will hold steady in the upper 20s to low 30s tonight. Widespread dense freezing fog is likely on Monday morning, which will cause slick roads. Extra caution is advised, especially during the morning commute.
Afternoon highs will be near 30 degrees on Monday as the air stays fairly stagnant and the fog inhibits warmth from sunlight. We will see a gradual cooling trend this week with afternoon highs in the single digits by Friday.
