Tonight will be partly cloudy with overnight lows near 40 degrees. Northern lights may be visible between 10 pm and 2 am, especially for areas north.

Winds will stay light overnight but increase by Monday afternoon.

Monday will be mostly sunny with a strong easterly wind keeping temperatures cooler by the lake. Canal Park will only reach 48 degrees while up the hill in Duluth will reach the low 60s.

Areas along the Iron Range will be near 70 degrees in the afternoon. South of the lake, temperatures will be in the low 70s. With the gusty winds and lower relative humidity in areas away from the lake, there is potential for fire weather risk in the afternoon. This risk will be short-lived as another round of rain will arrive late Monday night.

Rain will enter from the west after 10 pm Monday night, becoming widespread Tuesday morning. Tuesday will have scattered showers throughout the day with the potential for non-severe thunderstorms in the afternoon to early evening.

Lingering showers are possible Wednesday and Thursday. Chances of rain decrease by the end of the week, but there is a slight chance of light rain for the Minnesota Fishing Opener.
